Considering the growing demand for innovative products with complex geometry, the cutting and stamping processes made from molds and dies has grown considerably and, with that, the need for improvement in the manufacturing processes for the productivity and obtaining better quality parts at a reduced cost. The optimization of cutting parameters aims, among other goals, to ensure productivity and quality superficial. In this sense, the present work proposes an experimental study, with statistical planning, in which different values of the parameters of finish milling, varying the cutting speed, feed per tooth and machining depth, aiming to obtain a suitable surface quality for injection die molds and focusing on maximum productivity. As the study progressed, it can be noticed a great correlation between some input parameters with the output ones, having in view of a large variation in the results obtained from a small variation in the input parameters, having as crucial point the feed per tooth, both for finishing and for the productivity of the process. With the variations proposed above, we were able to obtain parameters considered ideal for finishing molds and dies, achieving a range of less than 2 Ra with a material removal rate greater than 500 mm³/min, thus having a good productivity with an excellent surface finish. |
