Summary: This work investigates the existent dialogism among the unfinished trilogy A ferro e fogo: tempo de solidão and A ferro e fogo: tempo de guerra, by Josué Guimarães, and the book Videiras de cristal, by Luiz Antonio de Assis Brasil. For this, it is proceeded, along this research, to a deep study about these books, their analysis and identification of the existent dialog between both of them, observing Luiz Antonio de Assis Brasil as a reader of Josué Guimarães. Based on the exposed analysis, it is pointed out the theme relationship which involves the authors books, once that both wrote about the German settlement of Rio Grande do Sul, in a specific way, about the episode Mucker occurred in the nineteenth century, in the Ferrabrás Hill, that today it is called the city of Sapiranga, which became a fragile and even suppressed subject, for both the official history pages, and for the origin of the involved families. Thereby, the relevance of this research is related to the role performed by the literature in the rescue of the past and in the present representation, namely, both are related to the dialogic function of the texts
