Riassunto: The purpose of automating silo unloading gates is to control the flow of grain to subsequent equipment. There are different ways in which these gates are manufactured. Among the ways we can mention manual, pneumatic, hydraulic gates or through electric actuators. When control is desired by means of an electric actuator, it ends up involving several risks due to its ignition, as silos contain both dust and explosive gases. Therefore, there is a need for all equipment to follow certain standards to avoid explosions. When silos are unloaded, controlling the grain flow is extremely important. In the case of manual gates, the operator needs to enter a tunnel below the silo to control the silo's discharge flow. Being able to carry out this control without having to go to the tunnel below the silo helps and makes the operator's work much easier. The project aims to facilitate the opening and closing of a silo unloading gate using an HMI with a microcontrolled board and distance sensors, enabling the operator to perform his work in a more accessible and simple way.
