Dissertação (Mestrado em Artes)-Universidade de Brasília, Brasília, 2006.http://repositorio.unb.br/handle/10482/2714Dissertação (mestrado)—Universidade de Brasília, Instituto de Artes, 2006.Sensíveis simbioses: interações afetivas é uma pesquisa teórica e prática cuja principal abordagem consiste no conceito de vestimenta computacional afetiva e os materiais que as estruturam, resultando na experiência de projetar e construir uma jóia afetiva para refletir e constatar os processos estudados, além da pesquisa prática de materiais envolvendo a borracha natural da Amazônia (Tecbor) e materiais estimuláveis. Tais vestimentas, equipadas com sensores e microchips, podem monitorar simultaneamente diversas variáveis biométricas captadas do corpo humano de forma não invasiva e estabelecer uma relação interativa entre o usuário, a tecnologia, o meio ambiente e as outras pessoas, ampliando, desse modo, possibilidades comunicacionais e expandem a percepção do seu usuário e de seus observadores quanto aos limites do seu corpo. Tal temática levanta questões como as relações simbióticas entre objetivo e subjetivo, mente e corpo, e entre áreas disciplinares diferentes como arte, design, ciência e tecnologia. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTSensíveis simbioses: interações afetivas aims at a theoretical and practical research which focus on the concept of wearable affective computing and the correspondent materials that structure them. These studies are experienced in designing and manufacturing an affective jewel directed to reflecting upon the process of creation of wearable affective computing items. When equipped with sensors as well as microchips, it may simultaneously monitors biometric variables as they are captured from the body. This system runs in a not intrusive manner and establishes an interactive rapport between the user, the technology, the environment and the other. The affective wearable amplifies communicational possibilities and expands the perception of their users and observer as it regards the limits of their bodies.
