Čoahkkáigeassu: The notion of the “logopathic” (logos + pathos) is the core of cinephilosophical reflection. This notion (Cabrera, 2009) suggests that the enlightening function of philosophy can be carried out by means of languages and techniques that provoke affect – not in an ornamental or accessorial way, but as the very core of philosophical thought. As of this premise, the author addresses the classical and controversial subject of euthanasia through two emblematic films: The Unbearable lightness of Being, directed by Philip Kaufman, compared with Milan Kundera s novel of the same name, and Big Fish, by Tim Burton. The result is a turn that allows for rethinking the very notion of bioethics, enriching it with the power of contemporary narrative.
