Summary: This study aimed to analyze the scientific production on climbing and mountaineering in Brazilian Physical Education. To achieve this, an integrative systematic review was conducted based on theses, dissertations, and scientific articles. Data collection took place between March and July 2024 in the following sources: Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog, and 39 scientific journals in the field. Only original, open-access studies published in Portuguese, English, or Spanish were included, with no time restrictions, due to the lack of previous systematic reviews on the subject. The analysis of 43 articles, 15 dissertations, and 5 theses indicated that climbing and mountaineering represent an expanding object of study in Physical Education, marked by thematic and methodological diversity. The studies covered topics ranging from technical and physiological aspects related to high performance to symbolic, pedagogical, environmental, and sociocultural dimensions, highlighting the complexity and multiplicity of approaches shaping this phenomenon. The predominance of research in the Southeast region revealed the need to decentralize scientific production and to foster the development of these practices in other regions with sporting, ecotourism, and pedagogical potential.
