It presents scientific communication and its popularization sides as a central theme. The objective is to theoretically debate contemporary scientific communication and, empirically, produce an outlook on the treatment of journalism in agribusiness in regard to matters related to the rural and to science, technology and innovation. It investigates the theme of scientific journalism from news reports published in Suplemento do Campo, from O Popular newspaper, between 1988 and 2015, through a quali-quantitative content analysis. It concludes stockbreeding as a priority subject, focus on productivity, preference for interviewees linked to private businesses, when from locations of scientific production, sources connected to Embrapa, Emater and universities, emphasis on Universidade Federal de Goiás, silencing of women as sources, articles referring to Goiânia and surroundings or to cities with prominence of agribusiness, minimal use of the terms science and innovation, recurring use of the expression new technology |
