Итог: | This dissertation proposes a literogeographical interpretation of José Saramago's The Tale of the Unknown Island. In his existential cartography, the researcher places himself as a blind reader whose worldview ("mundividência") is constructed through reading. Next, a preliminary reading of the short story is undertaken, interpreting it as a journey inside the subject. Subsequently, a theoretical review of the foundations of literogeography is carried out, with emphasis on the geographical dimension of José Saramago's work. Finally, the journey is situated as a predisposition and the island as the unknown that is not on the maps, highlighting the existential aspect contained in the Saramaguian tale. It investigates how the journey narrated in the story can broaden the reader's geographical knowledge of the world. |
