Summary: Congenital malformations account for 21% of deaths. The aim of this study was to analyze the neonatal and maternal changes related to malformations of the central nervous system. This is a cross-sectional, retrospective and quantitative study approach. We used secondary data collected from medical records of patients treated at a public hospital in Goiânia, GO, from 2004 to 2014. We included 87 patients in the study, who answered all the criteria adopted. Regarding the variables, the mean age was ± 24 years, and 48% declared themselves married and / or consensual union, while 26% reported being single. As for prenatal consultations, 24 (27.9%) patients had 7 or more queries, while 35 (40.7%) reported not doing any during pregnancy. 62% of children had more than 3 kg at birth and 38% were considered underweight. Most infants (43.5%) had birth weights between 2501-4000 grams. There was statistically relationship between the value of Apgar score recorded in the first minutes of life of RN's malformed. The head circumference showed a mean of 33 ± 0.2 cm. There was no significant relationship between the occurrence of CNS malformations and mortality rates in the neonatal period. The most frequent CNS malformations was hydrocephalus (in 72.1% of cases), then the myelomeningocele (13.9%). Regarding clinical characteristics and data of infants with CNS malformations, there was a predominance of males in newborns, 46 cases (55%). The most frequent CNS malformations was with hydrocephalus (72.1% of cases), then the myelomeningocele (13.9%).

El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar los cambios neonatal y materna relacionados con malformaciones del sistema nervioso central. Este es un enfoque de estudio de corte transversal, retrospectivo y cuantitativa. Se utilizó datos secundarios recogidos de las historias clínicas de los pacientes tratados en un hospital público en Goiânia, GO, de 2004 a 2014. Se incluyeron 87 pacientes en el estudio, todos los que respondieron a los criterios adoptados. Respecto a las variables, la edad media fue de ± 24 años y el 48% se declararon unión matrimonial y / o consensual, mientras que el 26% reportó estar sola. En cuanto a las consultas prenatales, 24 (27,9%) pacientes tenían 7 o más consultas, mientras que 35 (40,7%) no se informa hacer ningún durante el embarazo. 62% de los niños tenían más de 3 kg al nacer y el 38% se consideraron de bajo peso. La mayoría de los niños (43,5%) tuvieron un peso al nacer entre 2501-4000 gramos. No fue estadísticamente relación entre el valor de la puntuación de Apgar registrados en los primeros minutos de vida de los RN con formato incorrecto. La circunferencia de la cabeza mostró una media de 33 ± 0,2 cm. No hubo una relación significativa entre la aparición de malformaciones del sistema nervioso central y las tasas de mortalidad en el período neonatal. Las malformaciones del SNC más frecuente fue hidrocefalia (en 72,1% de los casos), entonces el mielomeningocele (13,9%). En cuanto a las características clínicas y los datos de los bebés con malformaciones del sistema nervioso central, hubo un predominio del sexo masculino en los recién nacidos, 46 casos (55%). Las malformaciones del SNC más frecuente fue con hidrocefalia (72,1% de los casos), entonces el mielomeningocele (13,9%).As malformações congênitas respondem por 21% das mortes. O objetivo desse trabalho foi analisar as alterações neonatais e maternas relacionadas com as malformações do Sistema Nervoso Central. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, retrospectivo e com abordagem quantitativa. Foram utilizados dados secundários coletados dos prontuários de pacientes atendidos em um Hospital Público em Goiânia-GO, no período de 2004 a 2014. Foram incluídos 87 pacientes no estudo, os quais responderam todos os critérios adotados. Em relação às variáveis, a média de idade encontrada foi de ± 24 anos de idade, sendo que 48% se declararam casadas e/ou união consensual, enquanto que 26% referiram estar solteiras. Quanto às consultas de pré-natal, 24 (27,9%) pacientes realizaram 7 ou mais consultas, enquanto que 35 (40,7%) referiram não terem feito nenhuma durante a gestação. 62% das crianças apresentaram mais de 3 Kg ao nascimento e 38% foram consideradas baixo peso. A maioria dos RN (43,5%) apresentou peso ao nascer entre 2501-4000 gramas. Houve relação estatisticamente entre o valor do Índice de Apgar registrado no 1° minuto de vida dos RN’s malformados. O perímetro cefálico apresentou média de 33 ± 0,2 cm. Não houve relação estatisticamente significante entre a ocorrência de malformações do SNC e as taxas de mortalidade do período neonatal. A malformação do SNC mais frequente foi a hidrocefalia (em 72,1% dos casos), seguida da mielomeningocele (13,9%). Em relação às características e dados clínicos de recém-nascidos com malformações do SNC, houve predomínio do gênero masculino nos recém-nascidos, 46 casos (55%). A malformação do SNC mais frequente foi à hidrocefalia (72,1% dos casos), seguida da mielomeningocele (13,9%).Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de GoiásPrograma de Pós-graduação em Enfermagem (FEN)UFGBrasilFaculdade de Enfermagem - FEN (RG)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMalformaçãoSistema nervoso central e recém-nascidoMalformationCentral nervous system and newbornCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMCaracterísticas neonatais e maternas associadas às malformações congenitas do sistema nervoso centralNeonatal and maternal characteristics associated with malformations of the central nervous systemCaracterísticas neonatal y materna adjuntos a malformaciones congénitas sistema nervioso centralinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis45061628303650419816006006006002756753233336908714-7702826533010964327-2555911436985713659reponame:Repositório Institucional da UFGinstname:Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)instacron:UFGCC-LICENSElicense_urllicense_urltext/plain;
