Резюме: | The research examines women's clothing fashion in Goiás from 1830, shortly after the Independence of Brazil - when the territory of the state of Goiás was elevated to the category of province - until the year 1900, in the 19th century. To do this, the content analysis method was used in conjunction with discourse analysis. The dissertation carries out a bibliographical survey on clothing fashion and the history of Goiás, making it possible to develop a detailed investigation of the approaches to advertisements and texts in nineteenth-century Goiás newspapers present in the Hemeroteca Digital Brasileira. Thus, the researcher looked at the collection of 22 periodicals in the region, carrying out targeted searches using the terms “Fashion”, “Clothing”, “Attire”, “Clothes” e “Dress”. The analysis of the periodicals allowed the discovery of countless information about Goiás society in the 19th century and helped in understanding who Goiás women were, how they lived and how they were seen in the period. It was also possible to discover a large part of the materials, clothes and accessories used by these women. The study contributed to a better visibility of women in nineteenth-century society in the state of Goiás through the acts of clothing and social role played via content published in periodicals. |
