Sumari: | The cultivation and the industrialization of sugar cane can be considered the oldest economic activity, of this gender in Brazil. One of the characteristics which marks that process, the arrival of the first casts, brought by Martin Afonso in 1532, to nowadays, is that that activity acts effectively in our production and spatial organization, is it in the international economic insertion or is it in its internal organization. From the beginning of the sugar production in the Northeast Zona da Mata, in the colonial period, until the ethanol production in the lands of São Paulo, nucleate by PROALCOOL, from the middle of the seventies, until de present period, in which the energy production was incorporated to its activities, that sector, in spite of many technical and economical changes, maintains itself imbricated in the public policies from the Brazilian state. The central goal of this work is to understand, in an analytic form, the organization, the changes and the recent expansion of the sector to the Cerrado areas, specially for the sate of Goiás, having as an example, the municipality of Jataí. The theoretical and the methodological perspectives used go in the direction to understand, in a larger movement the sector in itself and the changes occurred along the history, next it tries to establish the relations of the recent expansion to the Cerrado areas, and inside of this expansion, the process of territoriality in Jataí GO. In the municipality of Jataí, strategies of sugar cane energy territoriality were analyzed, as well as the resistances of certain productive sectors to the expansion of this activity. Still inside these actions, we tried to define the roll of the municipal public power in face to the possibility of the areas occupation by the cultivation of sugar cane, the possibility to dislocate other activities already installed in the municipality. Inside this fixation process of the sector in the municipality, the generation of new jobs and income is presented, by the sector, as a gained for the society in general. So, we tried to analyze that capacity of the sector, considering the profile of the workers required by the sugar cane activities. At last, even considering that this process is still not consolidated in the municipality, we tried to demonstrate some social and spatial consequences of the territoriality movement of the sugar cane energy sector in Jataí. |
