Resumo: Thesis written using scientific article style. The first article, submitted to “Revista de Saúde Pública” and entitled “Investigation of musculoskeletal symptoms of seamstresses in the metropolitan region of Goiânia (Goiás)”, comprised a cross-sectional, analytical and quantitative study. The goal was to evaluate and compare musculoskeletal symptoms in 417 seamstresses, either self-employed or factory-employed. The Identification and Assessment Survey was employed to obtain socio-demographic and labor-related data, and The Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire to evaluate physical symptoms present in the previous 12 months. A high prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms was observed, mainly in the dorsal, lumbar and cervical regions, as well as in the shoulders and wrists/hands/fingers. Pain, numbness, and tingling was more prevalent in self-employed workers (<0,001) and among those who had been in the profession >10 years (p=0,04). Most workers indicated they had some type of medical and/or physical therapy intervention to treat musculoskeletal symptoms during the 12-month period (p=0,01). The second article, submitted to “Ciência & Saúde Coletiva” and entitled “Work life quality analysis of seamstresses in the metropolitan region of Goiânia (Goiás)”, was a cross-sectional and analytical study, where the objective was to evaluate and compare the quality of work life of self-employed and factory-employed seamstresses from Goiás state in Brazil. A Quality of Work Life Questionnaire-bref (QWLQ-bref) was used to evaluate the physical/health, personal, professional and psychological status of each worker. The total points average was 3,3 (±0,3) or 55,1%, indicating satisfactory work life quality. Looking at each component separately, the physical/health aspect was considered satisfactory; whereas psychological, personal and professional aspects were considered neutral. In the comparison of self-employed and factory-employed seamstresses, compared to the averages obtained in the 4 domains, we observed a significant difference only in the physical/health aspect (p=0,02), with a significantly higher score among the self-employed. No significant difference was observed in the general frequencies between seamstresses self-employed and factory-employed in the answers given to the 20 QWLQ-bref questions.

O primeiro, submetido à “Revista de Saúde Pública”, intitulado “Investigação dos sintomas osteomusculares de costureiras da região metropolitana de Goiânia (Goiás)”, refere-se a um estudo transversal e analítico, em que se objetivou investigar e comparar os sintomas osteomusculares de 417 costureiras empregadas e autônomas da região metropolitana de Goiânia, Estado de Goiás, Brasil, por meio de uma Ficha de Identificação e Avaliação para se obter dados sociodemográficos e relacionados às atividades laborais e do Questionário Nórdico de Sintomas Osteomusculares para avaliação dos sintomas físicos presentes nos últimos 12 meses. Neste estudo, constatou-se que a prevalência de sintomas osteomusculares nos 12 meses que antecederam a coleta foi elevada, sobretudo nas regiões dorsal, lombar e cervical, nos ombros e em punhos/mãos/dedos. A dor, dormência e formigamento estiveram significativamente mais presentes nas costureiras autônomas (p<0,001) e naquelas que atuavam a mais de 10 anos na profissão (p=0,04). A maioria das profissionais de costura relatou ter realizado tratamento médico e/ou fisioterapêutico em razão dos sintomas osteomusculares no período investigado (p=0,01). O segundo artigo será submetido ao periódico “Ciência & Saúde Coletiva”, intitulado “Análise da qualidade de vida no trabalho de costureiras da região metropolitana de Goiânia (Goiás)”, tratando-se de um estudo transversal e analítico, em que se procurou investigar e comparar a qualidade de vida no trabalho de costureiras empregadas e autônomas do Estado de Goiás, Brasil. As participantes foram submetidas a uma Ficha de Identificação e Avaliação a fim de se obter dados sociodemográficos e relacionados às atividades laborais e ao Questionário de Qualidade de Vida no Trabalho-bref (QWLQ-bref) para avaliação dos aspectos físicos/saúde, pessoais, profissionais e psicológicos destas trabalhadoras. Concluiu-se que a média total de pontos da qualidade de vida no trabalho foi de 3,3 (±0,3), correspondendo a 55,1%, indicando que as costureiras se mostraram satisfeitas com a qualidade de vida no trabalho. Considerando os domínios separadamente, o físico/saúde foi classificado como satisfatório, enquanto que os domínios psicológico, pessoal e profissional foram neutros. Na comparação das costureiras empregadas e autônomas, diante das médias obtidas nos 4 domínios, observamos diferença significativa apenas no aspecto físico/saúde (p=0,02), com pontuação significativamente maior entre as autônomas. Não se observou diferença significativa nas frequências gerais entre costureiras autônomas e empregadas nas respostas dadas às 20 questões do QWLQ-bref.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de GoiásPrograma de Pós-graduação em Ciências da Saúde (FM)UFGBrasilFaculdade de Medicina - FM (RG)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessIndústria têxtilTranstornos traumáticos cumulativosQualidade de vidaTrabalhoEpidemiologiaSaúde do trabalhadorCumulative trauma disorderTextile industryEpidemiologyWorker’s healthQuality of lifeWorkSAUDE COLETIVA::EPIDEMIOLOGIASatisfação no trabalho e sintomas osteomusculares em costureiras autônomas e empregadas da região metropolitana de GoiâniaSatisfaction in the work and musculoskeletal disorders of self-employed and factory-employed seamstresses from metropolitan region of Goiâniainfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesis-10068643126177453106006006001545772475950486338-1614662311676629386reponame:Repositório Institucional da UFGinstname:Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)instacron:UFGLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
