Sartrean existentialism and the play Entre Quatro Paredes are discussed in this essay. The question is raised about the freedom of human beings to compose their essence and the anguish arising from the constant need to make choices. Sartre's existentialist philosophy is exposed based on key concepts for understanding the French philosopher's work – Freedom, Anguish, Nothing and Other. Finally, based on the play Entre Quatro Paredes, the question arises whether, in fact, hell is the other? |
