Samenvatting: Dance is an art and a producer of knowledge language, is a space conducive to the development of meaning and discourse through the corporeality of individuals who are part of it. Within education, the dance plays a fundamental importance in the integral development of the human being. As art, it presents in the process of living and creating questions, not rarely controversial, such as physical aesthetics, gender, sexuality, political positioning. The language of dance long been linked to physical education and was used as a means of promoting health, personal hygiene, educational discipline, besides being an instrument of physical APPRAISAL, relegating the dance to a secondary role ignoring aspects of enjoyment, historical context and make aesthetic. This article aims to observe the presence of man in dance and specifically reflect on possible reasons why children often avoid participating in activities offered by dance workshops at the School Park 210 / 211norte. It can be seen in the focus group held at the School Park north 210/211 and later developed in dance activities, one of the main problems is the issues related to culture, gender roles and gender, and social expectations arising from the social group which are part and finally, the lack of specific training of teachers that offer the educational dance activities
