Summary: | The advent of the internet, the advancement of Information and Communication Technologies and the increased subscription to traditional scientific journals made authors / researchers look for alternatives to solve the problems of access to scientific publications. Since then, several initiatives have been created to promote free access in the world, when then open access repositories emerged. In Brazil, IBICT has created initiatives to encourage Universities and Research Centers to create their repositories, with which a large part of Universities have joined the construction of their Institutional repositories. Therefore, this research is an investigation on the Repositories of Federal Universities in the Northeast Region. The work hypothesis suggests the elements to be observed during the elaboration of a functioning policy. Through a bibliographic survey and data survey, a study was carried out among the 20 Northeastern Federal Universities. The study made it possible to understand the concept of repository, to analyze decision-making in relation to the elements necessary for the implantation of repositories, to analyze operating policies, as well as content, mandatory and submission policies; conducting proof of the hypothesis. |
