Ամփոփում: | Introduction: The constant technological advances present in the health area make it possible to improve practices in obtaining images of the different anatomical regions. The elderly population is a major consumer of health services and resources to support diagnosis and therapy. One of the most used technologies is computed tomography, a technique widely used for providing high-resolution images of the human body, however such a technique is not without risks. Given the above, this research aimed at the elaboration and validation of a care protocol in computed tomography, focusing on the elderly, being justified by the weaknesses present in the process of carrying out the exam. Objectives: To build and validate an assistance protocol for elderly patients undergoing computed tomography and to outline the service profile developed at the study institution. Methodology: Methodological research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach segmented in four stages: identification of the characteristics of the elderly about age, sex and anatomical area indicated in the examination, analysis of the flow of the elderly care process in the service of support for diagnosis and therapy by through the technique of nonparticipant observation, construction of the care protocol and validation with expert participants. Quantitative data were organized and analyzed using Microsoft Excel software and analyzed statistically in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The protocol validation used the Content Validity Index (CVI). Results: Data were obtained regarding the profile of the patients seen at the service, totaling 3,636, drawing a flowchart of care, elaborating a care protocol and validating it with specialist professionals. Skull images were the most prevalent (51.8%). The CVI obtained by the experts' validation in the first round resulted in an agreement of 98% and in the second round, after descriptive suggestions, obtained a CVI of 100%. Final considerations: In view of the data obtained through the selected methodology, there was the construction and validation of the care protocol for the elderly submitted to computed tomography. |

A população idosa é grande consumidora dos serviços de saúde e dos recursos de apoio ao diagnóstico e terapia. Uma das tecnologias mais empregadas é a tomografia computadorizada, técnica amplamente utilizada por proporcionar obtenção de imagens de alta resolução do corpo humano, entretanto tal técnica não é isenta de riscos. Diante do exposto esta pesquisa teve por finalidade a elaboração e validação de protocolo assistencial em tomografia computadorizada, com foco na pessoa idosa, sendo justificada pelas fragilidades presentes no processo de execução do exame. Objetivos: Construir e validar um protocolo de atendimento ao paciente idoso submetido à tomografia computadorizada e traçar o perfil de atendimento desenvolvido na instituição de estudo. Metodologia: Pesquisa metodológica, com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa segmentada em quatro etapas: identificação das características dos idosos acerca de idade, sexo e área anatômica indicada no exame, análise do fluxo do processo de atendimento do idoso no serviço de apoio ao diagnóstico e terapia por meio da técnica de observação não participante, construção do protocolo assistencial e validação do mesmo com participantes especialistas. Os dados quantitativos foram organizados e analisados no software Microsoft Excel e analisados estatisticamente no Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. A validação do protocolo utilizou o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC). Resultados: Foram obtidos dados referentes ao perfil dos pacientes atendidos no serviço totalizando 3.636, desenho de fluxograma de atendimento, elaboração de protocolo assistencial e validação do mesmo com profissionais especialistas. As imagens de crânio foram as mais prevalentes (51,8%). O IVC obtido pela validação dos especialistas na primeira rodada resultou em uma concordância de 98% e na segunda rodada, após sugestões descritivas, obteve IVC de 100%.
