সংক্ষিপ্ত: | This study investigates technological forecasting as a strategy for the sustainability of Geographical Indications (GIs) of coffee, focusing on the Cerrado Mineiro and the Serra da Mantiqueira de Minas regions. The growing vulnerability of GIs in the face of climate change and technological transformations calls for an innovative approach in intellectual property management, one capable of preserving the link between quality, reputation, and territory. In this context, the article examines how technological forecasting can be applied to identify adaptive solutions that ensure the competitiveness and authenticity of coffee GIs. The main objective is to map emerging technologies that contribute to the resilience of coffee with GIs, balancing innovation and preservation of territorial identity. The methodology adopted was qualitative and exploratory, based on patent analysis from the Espacenet, Orbit Intelligence, WIPO, and INPI databases, as well as a review of scientific articles and technological reports published in the last five years. The keywords used were “coffee,” “climate adaptation,” “precision agriculture,” and “sustainable coffee production.” The information was organized into technological roadmaps, highlighting trends in biotechnology, precision agriculture, bioproducts, and blockchain for traceability. The results indicate that the integration between technological forecasting and GI management is essential for adaptation to climate change. It is concluded that this approach represents an innovation in the field of intellectual property, promoting a more dynamic, sustainable governance model that is aligned with new market requirements and international GI protection legislation. |

A crescente vulnerabilidade das IGs frente às mudanças climáticas e às transformações tecnológicas demanda uma abordagem inovadora na gestão da propriedade intelectual, capaz de preservar o vínculo entre qualidade, reputação e território. Nesse contexto, o artigo analisa como a prospecção tecnológica pode ser aplicada na identificação de soluções adaptativas que garantam a competitividade e a autenticidade das IGs cafeeiras. O objetivo principal é mapear tecnologias emergentes que contribuam para a resiliência do café com IG, equilibrando inovação e preservação da identidade territorial. A metodologia adotada foi qualitativa e exploratória, baseada na análise de patentes nas bases Espacenet, Orbit Intelligence, WIPO e INPI, além de revisão de artigos científicos e relatórios tecnológicos publicados nos últimos cinco anos. As palavras-chave utilizadas foram “coffee”, “climate adaptation”, “precision agriculture” e “sustainable coffee production”. As informações foram organizadas em roadmaps tecnológicos, evidenciando tendências em biotecnologia, agricultura de precisão, bioinsumos e blockchain para rastreabilidade. Os resultados indicam que a integração entre prospecção tecnológica e gestão das IGs é essencial para a adaptação frente às mudanças climáticas.
