Sumari: The popularization of online teaching led to an increase in discussions about the main tools used in its realization. In addition, the pandemic has boosted the production of teaching materials, whether for distance classes or remote teaching. However, most teachers were not prepared and used to them. Therefore, this article presents some definitions related to the main actors of education at that moment, communication and technology, from a psychology perspective. This theme was chosen as a focal point, as psychology is part of many fields of research, including education and communication. Cognitive psychology, one of the branches of psychology as an area of knowledge, is responsible for the study of knowledge bases and emerged in the mid-twentieth century. However, with the advent of technologies and the boom generated in the communication process, psychologists were able to obtain other and more usual analogies for their studies. Among them, we can mention the emergence of other theories about the psychological processes of attention, perception, motivation, memory and forgetting, language and language acquisition, problem solving and decision making.
