Sumari: | The relationship between nurses' knowledge and application of information about the climacteric period and menopause stimulated this study. This field research, with a qualitative approach and exploratory objective, was conducted using a questionnaire created on the "Google Forms" platform, with twelve dichotomous questions. Participants were nurses, regardless of age, sex, or area of practice, totaling 33 participants. The questionnaire was available online from January 1st to February 28th, 2019. The responses were then analyzed and converted into percentages. Data analysis concluded that, for the most part, nurses possess knowledge of the topic, have no difficulty discussing or addressing it, and recognize its importance. However, this study concluded that nurses do not disseminate this knowledge among their teams and do not address the topic with the patients and community they serve. Most believe that professionals lack knowledge about perimenopause and menopause, and yet they claim not to conduct any type of educational outreach, lectures, or waiting room sessions. |

O estudo apresenta uma pesquisa de campo, com abordagem qualitativa e objetivo exploratório. A pesquisa foi realizada através de um formulário criado na plataforma “Google Forms”, com doze questões dicotômicas. Os participantes foram enfermeiros, não sendo diferenciados idade, sexo ou áreas de atuação, totalizando um número de 33 participantes. O questionário esteve disponível pelo período de 01 de janeiro a 28 de fevereiro de 2019, sendo respondido de forma online. Após foi realizada a análise das respostas e as respostas convertidas em porcentagens. Após análise dos dados, conclui-se que na sua maioria, os enfermeiros possuem conhecimentos sobre o tema, não possuem dificuldades em falar ou trabalhar o assunto e reconhecem a importância de tal. Porém, este estudo concluiu que o profissional enfermeiro não dissemina este conhecimento entre sua equipe e não trabalha o assunto com os pacientes e comunidade que atende. A maioria acredita que os profissionais não têm conhecimento sobre o climatério e a menopausa e, mesmo assim, afirmam não realizar nenhum tipo de abordagem educativa, palestra ou sala de espera.BRASIl.
