Tóm tắt: | This paper is part of an investigation and has as its object a reading about the emergence of the Brotherhood of the Cross of Vila do Massapê and the events that culminated in the massacre that took place on March 26, 1902, on the banks of the Acaraú-Mirim public dam. . We will analyze the facts in the light of the research method that aims to reflect and understand how it was possible that these events escaped a deeper study of our historiography. We seek, therefore, to recover a memory and bring present in our approach, from the echoes brought by a new story, listening to the moans, shouts and calls of those who were massacred and silenced and who now claim and deserve the right to historical memory. Finally, it raises concerns about these events, trying to establish relations with other Brotherhoods of the Cross that existed in the Sertões do Ceará, reflecting from there their similarities and disparities; and what were the motivations that existed between the Brotherhood of the Cross, Légio Crucis and the Brotherhood of the Cauldron of the Holy Cross, to think of its importance in the context of historical construction as the establishment of a living and active memory in our day. |

Analizaremos los hechos a la luz del método de investigación que tiene como objetivo reflejar y comprender cómo fue posible que estos eventos escaparan a un estudio más profundo de nuestra historiografía. Analisaremos os fatos à luz do método de pesquisa que visa refletir e entender como foi possível que estes acontecimentos escaparam a um estudo mais aprofundado de nossa historiografia. Buscamos, portanto, recuperar uma memória e trazer presente em nossa abordagem, a partir dos ecos trazidos por uma nova história, ouvindo os gemidos, os gritos e os apelos daqueles que foram massacrados e silenciados e que agora reivindicam e merecem nos dias atuais o direito à memória histórica. Por fim, levanta inquietações sobre esses eventos, tentando estabelecer relações com outras Irmandades da Cruz que existiram nos Sertões do Ceará, refletindo a partir daí suas semelhanças e disparidades;
