This work presents the development of a prototype of a conveyor belt, for the separation of parts, due to the material in which it was built, in which it will be automated with the aid of a programmable logic controller (PLC), with the aim of applying and improve the knowledge acquired during the course. The project consists of a conveyor belt, powered by a 12v motor with a reduction gearbox, a metal base, and a canvas for moving the parts. Two sensors will be implemented, one inductive and one capacitive, with the purpose of identifying materials that require conveyor movement. Two pneumatic pistons will be designed to propel the materials, one for metallic materials and the other for other types of materials. To automate the process, a PLC must be used. Finally, the project worked, with the correct coding, but with the need for some improvements, such as adapting a guide, resizing the axis and motor and expanding a second conveyor belt to select other types of materials.
