Frustration, interest and planning: activities involving the World of Work proposed in Life Purpose textbook

Summary: A Life Project is a set of goals, desires, and dreams that are interconnected, creating a kind of compass that points towards a certain path towards the future. The Life Project can be characterized as an individual and social phenomenon. This study aims to characterize didactic activities involving the World of Work proposed in Project Life textbooks. Nine (9) textbooks recommended under the National Program for Textbooks and Didactic Material (PNLD) were analyzed. The methodology adopted is qualitative, using theoretical and methodological contributions related to Grounded Theory (GT). After coding the collected material, three (3) analytical categories were constructed: 1) Managing frustrations and becoming resilient; 2) Exploring possible career paths based on interests; and 3) Planning the future: building strategies to achieve dreams. In conclusion that three main types of didactic activities are distributed across the categories: a) Creating strategies to achieve one or more objectives, being flexible and resilient; b) Exploring entrepreneurship in the community and other contexts; c) Investigating career paths considering personal interests. The analyzed textbooks largely avoided addressing topics such as persistent unemployment in capitalist societies, as well as the challenges that workers experience in the world. Topics such as labor rights and strategies for managing job crises were infrequently addressed in the textbooks when they did appear.

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo caracterizar las actividades didácticas, relacionadas con el Mundo del Trabajo, propuestas en los libros didácticos de Proyecto de Vida. Se analizaron nueve (9) libros didácticos recomendados por el Programa Nacional del Libro y Material Didáctico (PNLD). La metodología utilizada es cualitativa y se basa en los principios de la Teoría Fundamentada en los Datos (TFD) . Después de codificar el material recopilado, se construyeron tres (3) categorías analíticas: 1) Manejando frustraciones y desarrollando resiliencia; 2) Explorando posibles trayectorias profesionales basadas en intereses; y 3) Planificando el futuro: construyendo estrategias para cumplir los sueños. Concluimos que en estas categorías se distribuyen tres tipos principales de actividades didácticas: a) Crear estrategias para alcanzar uno o más objetivos, siendo flexibles y resilientes; b) Investigar sobre el emprendimiento en la comunidad en la que se vive y en otros contextos; c) Investigar las trayectorias profesionales considerando los intereses personales. De esta manera, los libros didácticos analizados evitan discutir problemáticas como el desempleo permanente en las sociedades capitalistas, así como las precariedades que experimentan los trabajadores en el mundo. Temas como los derechos laborales y qué hacer ante la crisis del empleo también se discuten poco, cuando aparecen en los libros didácticos.Um Projeto de Vida é um conjunto de metas, desejos e sonhos que são interligados e produzem uma espécie de bússola que aponta determinado caminho em direção ao futuro que pode ainda ser caracterizado como um fenômeno individual e social. Este trabalho tem como objetivo caracterizar as atividades pedagógicas, envolvendo o Mundo do Trabalho, propostas em obras didáticas de Projeto de Vida. Foram analisados nove (9) livros didáticos recomendados pelo Programa Nacional do Livro e Material Didático (PNLD). A metodologia adotada é do tipo qualitativa, com uso de aportes teóricos-metodológicos relacionados à Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. Após codificação do material coletado, foram construídas três (3) categorias analíticas: 1) Gerenciando frustrações e se tornando resiliente; 2) Investigando possíveis caminhos profissionais com base no interesse; e 3) Planejando o futuro: construindo estratégias para realizar sonhos. Concluímos que nessas categorias estão distribuídos três tipos principais de atividades didáticas: a) Criar estratégias para atingir um ou mais objetivos, sendo flexível e resiliente; b) Investigar sobre empreendedorismo na comunidade em que vive e em outros contextos; c) Investigar caminhos profissionais considerando os interesses pessoais. Dessa forma, os livros didáticos analisados evitaram discutir problemáticas como o desemprego persistente em sociedades capitalistas, bem como as precariedades que os trabalhadores vivenciam no mundo.
