Summary: A corpus of objects placed in the context of his statement, inspires acts of catalog, classify, structure. In this paper we present and analyze both theoretically, through the qualifying transaction, the digital file Visual Archive of Santiago. First, we will describe the process of formation and characteristics of this file to understand the motivations and the structure of it and, secondly, propose certain readings of this collection while allowing studying urban iconography. Offer readings iconographic system allows one hand, comprise a collection of images of a city as a source of historical research of the city, and on the other, opening possibilities for theoretical analysis, we believe, contribute to enriching the urban planning concrete work both projection and modeling of the city. We propose and analyze this file as an intangible heritage positioning (documents) in the service of the tangible (the city).

En este artículo queremos presentar y analizar teóricamente, a través de la operación de clasificación, el archivo digital Arquivo Visual de Santiago. En primer lugar, se describirá el proceso de conformación y las características de este archivo para comprender sus motivaciones y estructura y, en segundo lugar, se propondrán ciertas lecturas de esta colección que permitan estudiarla como iconografía urbana. Proponer un sistema de lecturas iconográficas permite, por un lado, comprender un conjunto de imágenes de una ciudad como fuente de investigación historiográfica sobre la ciudad, y, por otro, abrir la posibilidad de análisis teórico que , creemos, enriquecerá el urbanismo como obra, proyección y modelización concreta de la ciudad. Proponemos por tanto el análisis de este archivo como un posicionamiento (de los documentos) al servicio del patrimonio material (de la ciudad).Um corpus de objetos, postos no contexto de sua exposição, inspira os atos de catalogar, classificar, estruturar. Neste artigo queremos apresentar e analisar teoricamente, através da operação classificatória, o arquivo digital Arquivo Visual de Santiago. Em primeiro lugar, descrever-se-á o proceso de conformação e as características deste arquivo para compreender as motivações e a estrutura do mesmo e, em segundo lugar, serão propostas certas leituras desta coleção que permitam estudá-la enquanto iconografía urbana. Propor um sistema de leituras iconográficas possibilita, por uma parte, compreender uma coleção de imagens de uma cidade enquanto fonte de pesquisa historiográfica da urbe, e, por outra, abrir possibilidade de análise teórica que, acreditamos, venham a enriquecer a planificação urbana enquanto trabalho concreto de projeção e modelamento da cidade.
