School for what? Reflections about the functions of public schools in the State of São Paulo

Resumo: | Although some research approaches the function of the school, this has been a subject almost always treated secondary in these researches. In this sense, it is relevant to approach this theme, considering that the phenomena studied in the school everyday are crossed by intentionalities that imply in this social function, which, inevitably, interferes in the other phenomena that characterize the school day to day. Thus, with the intention of thinking about the role of the State School of São Paulo in Basic Education, believing that the school does not explain itself, but through the relationship established with society, this text presents research results that sought to identify and analyze the function attributed to the São Paulo state public school expressed in official documents, as well as the one elaborated by teachers and students. In order to do so, we used the analysis of official documents that guide the operation of the public school in São Paulo, as well as collective semi-structured interviews with a group of students and a group of teachers from a school in that network. From the articulation of the participants' views with the theoretical reference and the analysis of the official documents, it is possible to consider that this school, which serves the working class, has based its function on a proposal of limited education, disseminating basic knowledge for work, distancing itself too much from the socialization of knowledge and the production of this knowledge. |

En este sentido, es relevante abordar esta temática, considerando que los fenómenos estudiados en el cotidiano de la escuela están atravesados por intencionalidades que implican en una función social, la cual, inevitablemente, interfiere en los fenómenos otros que caracterizan el día a día de la escuela. De este modo, con la intención de pensar la función de la escuela pública de Educación Básica del estado de Sao Paulo, creyendo que la escuela no se explica por sí sola, pero a partir de la relación que establece con la sociedad, este texto presenta los resultados de la investigación que buscó identificar y analizar la función atribuida a la escuela publica del estado de Sao Paulo expresada en documentos oficiales, así como elaborada por profesores y alumnos. Para ello se recurrió a las análisis de documentos oficiales que orientan el funcionamiento de esta escuela publica y también a entrevistas semiestructuradas colectivas realizadas con un grupo de alumnos y un grupo de profesores de una escuela de esta red. A partir de la articulación entre los pensamientos de los participantes con el referencial teórico y el análisis de los documentos oficiales, es posible ponderar que esta escuela, que atiende a la clase trabajadora, ha fundamentado su función en una propuesta de educación limitada, diseminando conocimientos basicos para el trabajo, distanciándose demasiado de la socialización del saber y de la producción de este saber.Bien que certaines recherches abordent la fonction de l’école, cette question a presque toujours été traitée comme secondaire. En ce sens, il est pertinent d’aborder ce thème, en considérant que les phénomènes étudiés au quotidien à l’école sont traversés par des intentionnalités qui impliquent cette fonction sociale, qui interfère inévitablement avec les autres phénomènes qui caractérisent l’école au quotidien. Ainsi, dans l’intention de réfléchir au rôle de l’École d’État de l’Éducation de base de l’État de São Paulo, estimant que l’école ne s’explique pas, mais à travers la relation établie avec la société, ce texte présente les résultats de recherches visant à identifier et analyser la fonction attribuée à l’école publique d’État de São Paulo, exprimée dans des documents officiels, ainsi que celle élaborée par les enseignants et les élèves. Pour ce faire, nous avons utilisé l'analyse des documents officiels qui guident le fonctionnement de l'école publique de São Paulo ainsi que les entretiens collectifs semi-structurés menés avec un groupe d'élèves et un groupe d'enseignants d'une école de ce réseau. De l'articulation des regards des participants avec la référence théorique et l'analyse des documents officiels, il est possible de considérer que cette école, qui sert la classe ouvrière, a basé sa fonction sur une proposition d'éducation limitée, diffusant des connaissances de base pour le travail, s'éloignant trop de la socialisation du savoir et de la production de ce savoir.Sebbene alcune ricerche si avvicinino alla funzione della scuola, questo argomento è stato quasi sempre trattato in modo secondario in questa ricerca. In questo senso, è rilevante affrontare questo tema, considerando che i fenomeni studiati nella scuola ogni giorno sono attraversati da intenzionalità che implicano in questa funzione sociale, che, inevitabilmente, interferisce con gli altri fenomeni che caratterizzano la scuola giorno dopo giorno. Quindi, con l'intenzione di pensare al ruolo della Scuola statale di Stato di San Paolo di base, credendo che la scuola non si spiega da sola, ma attraverso il rapporto stabilito con la società, questo testo presenta i risultati di una ricerca che ha cercato di identificare e analizzare la funzione attribuita alla scuola pubblica statale di San Paolo espressa in documenti ufficiali, nonché quella elaborata da insegnanti e studenti. Per fare ciò, abbiamo utilizzato l'analisi dei documenti ufficiali che guidano il funzionamento della scuola pubblica a San Paolo e anche le interviste collettive semi-strutturate condotte con un gruppo di studenti e un gruppo di insegnanti di una scuola in quella rete. Dall'articolazione degli sguardi dei partecipanti con il riferimento teorico e l'analisi dei documenti ufficiali, è possibile considerare che questa scuola, che serve la classe operaia, ha basato la sua funzione su una proposta di educazione limitata, diffondendo le conoscenze di base per il lavoro, prendendo le distanze troppo dalla socializzazione della conoscenza e dalla produzione di questa conoscenza.Embora algumas pesquisas abordem a função da escola, esse tem sido um tema tratado quase sempre de forma secundária nessas pesquisas. Nesse sentido, é relevante abordar essa temática, tendo em vista que os fenômenos estudados no cotidiano escolar estão atravessados por intencionalidades que implicam nesta função social, a qual, inevitavelmente, interfere nos fenômenos outros que caracterizam o dia a dia escolar. Deste modo, com o intento de pensar a função da escola pública estadual paulista de Educação Básica, acreditando que a escola não se explica por si própria, mas sim através da relação que estabelece com a sociedade, este texto apresenta resultados de pesquisa que buscou identificar e analisar a função atribuída à escola pública estadual paulista expressa em documentos oficiais, bem como a elaborada por professores e alunos. Para tanto recorreu-se à análise de documentos oficiais que orientam o funcionamento da escola pública paulista e, também, a entrevistas semiestruturadas coletivas realizadas com um grupo de alunos e um grupo de professores de uma escola dessa rede.
