Summary: In this text, we will present the choices for a Tupinambá spelling, elected in a democratic and enlightened assembly, which took place in 2010, with indigenous leaders and teachers, in the Tupinambá community, Olivença - Bahia. This linguistic assistance was requested by the Tupinambá community itself, which was obliged to accept the Portuguese language in its social interactions, after a long process of conflict and oppression. The linguistic recovery and revitalization in a community seeks to insert elements of the original language in indigenous schools, teaching the target language (Tupinambá) in biweekly meetings, aimed at the production of didactic material for school use.

Esta asistencia lingüística fue solicitada por la propia comunidad tupinambá, que se vio obligada a aceptar el idioma portugués en sus interacciones sociales, luego de un largo proceso de conflicto y opresión. La recuperación y revitalización lingüística en una comunidad busca insertar elementos del idioma original en las escuelas indígenas, enseñando el idioma de destino (Tupinambá) en reuniones quincenales, dirigidas a la producción de material didáctico para uso escolar.Neste texto, apresentaremos as escolhas para uma ortografia Tupinambá, eleita em uma assembleia democrática e esclarecida, ocorrida em 2010, com lideranças e professores indígenas, na comunidade Tupinambá, Olivença – Bahia. Essa assessoria linguística foi requerida pela própria comunidade Tupinambá, obrigada a acolher a língua portuguesa em suas interações sociais, após um longo processo de conflito e opressão.
