Summary: This article aims at investigating the presence of Camões at the end of the 17th century in Portugal, based on Cristaes da Alma (1673), written by Gerardo de Escobar, pen name of Antônio de Escobar (1618-1681). Escobar’s imitation from Camões can be especially observed three times on Cristaes: when a rhetorical persona praises the eyes of a beloved woman, (anti)emulating Petrarca; when the persona walks through a wood and makes reference to the Giant Adamastor; when Aônio sighs and amplifies a sonnet from Camões. It will be highlighted the differences and similarities between Escobar’s and Camões’ poetry, considering Camões a fundamental authority in loving poetry during the 17th century.

La imitación a Camões se destaca en tres instantes de los Cristaes: en los elogios a los ojos de la mujer amada, con emulaciones (anti)petrarquistas; en los paseos de la persona poética por un bosque, con referencias al Gigante Adamastor; en los suspiros de Aônio, que retoman y amplifican un soneto camoniano. Veremos como Escobar imita y diversifica la poesía de Camões, autoridad fundamental para su temática amorosa.Este artigo visa investigar a presença de Camões em fins do século XVII, em Portugal, com base na ficção amorosa de Gerardo de Escobar, pseudônimo de fr. Antônio de Escobar (1618-1681), disposta em Cristaes da alma (1673). A imitação a Camões destaca-se em três momentos dos Cristaes: nos elogios aos olhos da mulher amada, com emulações (anti)petrarquistas; nos passeios da persona poética por um bosque, com referências ao Gigante Adamastor; nos suspiros de Aônio, que retomam e amplificam um soneto camoniano.
