It investigated how the interactions happen between children in the context of the activity room daycare, belonging to a rural public school in the city of Grace - Ceará. Also aimed to identify the situations that happen in the interactions between children as well, to see how the teacher conducts mediation during these interactions and to understand how children transform the space of the room in peer interaction. The methodology is a qualitative approach being conducted observations of a group of twenty-three children aged three years and six months to four years and six months. The results indicate that the interactions between pairs occur through various situations present in the routine of the children, especially the reception, the wheel of conversation, storytelling, through the presence of children's books in the room, through play and activities that arise as a pretext for interaction. It is noteworthy that in situations of play there is a large presence of exchanges between children. The teacher conducts mediation in peer interactions through mediating tools, and likewise the children also use these tools to interact. In this context, the space is transformed by children from the interactions that take place while playing.Esta pesquisa, pautada na perspectiva Sócio-histórica, tendo como referencial teórico os estudos de Lev Semyonovitch Vygotsky e Henri Wallon. Teve por objetivo investigar como acontecem as interações entre crianças no contexto da sala de atividades da creche, pertencente a uma escola pública da zona rural, no Município de Graça - Ceará. Objetivou também identificar as situações em que acontecem as interações entre crianças, bem como, perceber como o professor realiza mediação durante essas interações e compreender como as crianças transformam o espaço da sala na interação entre pares. A metodologia tem uma abordagem qualitativa, sendo realizadas observações de um grupo de vinte e três crianças em idades de três anos e seis meses a quatro anos e seis meses. Os resultados apontam que as interações entre pares acontecem através de várias situações presentes na rotina das crianças, destacando-se a acolhida, a roda de conversa, a contação de história, através da presença de livros infantis na sala, por meio da brincadeira e em atividades que surgem como pretexto para interação. Ressalta-se que em situações de brincadeira há uma grande presença de trocas entre crianças. A professora realiza mediação nas interações entre pares por meio de instrumentos mediadores, e da mesma forma as crianças também utilizam estes instrumentos para interagir.
