The Amazon region is a field of biological diversity that can be studied in several aspects, such as the technological exploration of its genetic heritage. This is the case of coumaru (Dipteryx odorata), a common tree species in the North and Midwest of the country. Could a technological prospecting for cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) contribute to the understanding of the potential of this species as a national resource? In order to answer the problem and, due to the marketing potential, the objective of this work is to conduct a study of Cumaru Technological Prospecting (Dipteryx odorata), through patent mapping and systematic bibliographic review of the term cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), to know the state of the art and its possible paths. The result shows that this element of national biodiversity has been arousing growing interest from researchers and companies; However, the research presented the complexity of technological prospection of the biodiversity of the Amazon due to multiculturalism and plurilingualism, with pluralities of common terms.
