Summary: This article investigates the body as textuality in the works of four Latin American artists: Ana Mendieta, Regina José Galindo, Lygia Clark and Priscila Rezende. The analysis is based on the theoretical reflections of Leda Maria Martins and Sueli Rolnik, which allow us to interpret the multiple layers of meaning of these productions. Furthermore, the study dialogues with the history of performance art, especially body art, supported by the studies of Roselee Goldberg. From these approaches, the centrality of feminine issues and the unique methods with which each artist treats the body in their artistic practices stand out.

El análisis se basa en las reflexiones teóricas de Leda Maria Martins y Sueli Rolnik, que permiten interpretar las múltiples capas de significado de estas producciones. Además, el estudio dialoga con la historia del arte performance, especialmente el arte corporal, apoyado en los estudios de Roselee Goldberg. De estos enfoques se destaca la centralidad de las cuestiones femeninas y los métodos únicos con los que cada artista trata el cuerpo en sus prácticas artísticas.Este artigo investiga o corpo como textualidade nas obras de quatro artistas latino-americanas: Ana Mendieta, Regina José Galindo, Lygia Clark e Priscila Rezende. A análise baseia-se nas reflexões teóricas de Leda Maria Martins e Sueli Rolnik, que permitem interpretar as múltiplas camadas de significação dessas produções. Além disso, o estudo dialoga com a história da performance art, em especial a body art, com suporte nos estudos de Roselee Goldberg.
