A presente dissertação do Mestrado em Administração e Planificação da Educação, realizada na Universidade Portucalense do Porto, é um estudo sobre “A Utilização do Portefólio no Desenvolvimento Profissional do Docente”. A construção de um portfólio tem sido enfatizada, principalmente com a entrada em vigor do decreto-lei 2/2007 sobre a avaliação de desempenho dos professores, pois seria uma forma de demonstrar as competências profissionais dos seus autores. Neste sentido, os objectivos gerais desta dissertação são “Conhecer e Compreender o Papel do Portefólio no Desenvolvimento Profissional do Docente”. Para a sua concretização, construímos um Portefólio ao longo do ano lectivo de 2008/2009, centrado na preparação, organização e realização das actividades lectivas e não lectivas da Docente Investigadora, e colocámos como questões de investigação: 1- De que forma a construção do portefólio promove uma atitude reflexiva? 2 - De que forma a construção do portefólio pode ser responsável pela auto-avaliação do professor? 3 - De que forma é que a construção do portefólio contribuiu para o desenvolvimento profissional do próprio professor? 4 - Possibilidades/Constrangimentos encontrados na construção do portefólio. Uma vez que não pretendíamos testar hipóteses nem generalizar os resultados obtidos, utilizámos a metodologia de natureza qualitativa, pois consideramos que seria a mais adequada para dar resposta às questões de investigação, questões essas cujo produto final seria de natureza descritiva e interpretativa. Para a recolha de dados utilizámos o diário de bordo da investigadora, entrevistas, o portefólio e outros documentos aos quais foi posteriormente aplicada a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Da análise obtivemos como resultados que o Portefólio promove a auto-reflexão e a auto-avaliação dos docentes, na medida em que, permite evidenciar os seus pontos fortes e melhorar os pontos menos favoráveis contribuindo, desta forma, para o desenvolvimento profissional dos professores. Quanto aos constrangimentos encontrados na construção do portefólio, salientamos a falta de tempo para a sua construção permanente, permitindo uma reflexão mais sistemática e profunda dada às solicitações constantes pretendidas pela escola. The current dissertation of the thesis Master in Educational Planning and Administration, held in Portucalense University of Porto, is a study on "The Use of Portfolio in Teacher Professional Development." The construction of a portfolio has been emphasized especially with the coming into effect of the Decree-Law 2 / 2007 about the evaluation of teachers’ performance as it would be a way to demonstrate the professional skills of their authors. In this sense, the main goals of this dissertation are "Knowing and Understanding the Role of the Portfolio in Teacher Professional Development." In order to achieve this objective, we built a portfolio throughout the academic year of 2008/2009, focusing on the preparation, organization and performance of the curricular and noncurricular activities of the Teacher Researcher/Investigator, and raised as research questions: 1 – In what way does the construction of the portfolio promote a reflective attitude? 2 – In what way can the construction of the portfolio be responsible for the teacher’s self-evaluation? 3 – In what way did the construction of the portfolio contribute to the professional development of the teacher himself/herself? 4 - Possibilities / constraints encountered during the construction of the portfolio. Since we did not intend to test hypotheses or to generalize the results obtained, we used a qualitative methodology because we believe it would be best suited to respond to the research questions, whose final product would be descriptive and interpretive. To collect data, we used the logbook of the researcher/investigator, interviews, the portfolio and other documents to which was later applied the technique of content analysis. From the analysis, we reached some results: the portfolio promotes the teachers’ self-reflection and self-evaluation, allowing to display the strong points and to improve the less favourable points, thus contributing to the professional development of teachers. Regarding the constraints found during the construction of the portfolio, we highlight the lack of time for its permanent building, not allowing a more systematic and profound reflection due to the constant requests from the various bodies of the school management, to perform clerical tasks.
