Summary: The objective of the first part of this work is to describe, explain, relate and situate the building and the theoretical thinking that accompanied its conception. For a more explanation effective, the text was structured according to the stages followed by the architect for the conception of space, whose order and hierarchy is confirmed by the collected documents. Margit Staber wrote: "The outer organization is as varied as the inner: also here the way to find form starts from the inside out and again from the outside in. inside."4 Peter Blundell Jones refers, on the design methodology of theaters and the building da Filarmónica: "The auditorium is based on internal requirements, being designed from within out, but is surrounded by hinged auxiliary parts, positioned in response to the location and guidance. Therefore, the general design is projected from the outside to the inside."5 Therefore, in this first part of the Dissertation, the Philharmonic building will be explained from its nucleus, going through the foyer, until reaching the Kulturforum complex, where fits in, and the city that it proposes to serve and dynamize. Pre-factors will be analyzed. - existing, which influenced the architectural design of the Philharmonic and its insertion in the urban dynamics of the city of Berlin.
