Nos últimos anos a cultura da amendoeira tem vindo a aumentar em Portugal, sobretudo na região Alentejo. Dado tratar-se de uma cultura regada, e num cenário previsível de escassez de água na região, nasce a necessidade de encontrar soluções técnicas que maximizem a produtividade da água. O objetivo deste estudo foi o de analisar a adequação da gestão da rega praticada por um agricultor, na região do Alentejo, num amendoal em sebe, das variedades “Avijor” e “Belona”, durante o período 2021-2023, de modo a se averiguar a sua influência na produção e quantificar a produtividade da água utilizada. Verificou-se que a cultura foi conduzida sempre em défice hídrico, tendo existido uma variação interanual da produção em ambas as variedades e uma produção nula em 2023 devido a problemas na fase de floração. A produtividade total da água em 2021 e 2022 apresentou valores semelhantes aos verificados noutros estudos; - Evaluation of the irrigation of a hedgerow almond orchard in the Alentejo region Abstract: In recent years almond cultivation has been increasing in Portugal, especially in the Alentejo region. Given that it is an irrigated crop, and in a predictable scenario of water scarcity in the region, there is a need to find technical solutions that maximize water productivity. The objective of this work was to analyse the adequacy of irrigation management practiced by a farmer, in the Alentejo region, in a hedgerow almond orchard, of the “Avijor” and “Belona” varieties, during the period 2021-2023, in order to investigate its influence on production and quantify the productivity of the water used. It was found that the crop was always carried out in water deficit regime, with an interannual variation in production in both varieties and zero production in 2023 due to problems at the flowering stage. Total water productivity in 2021 and 2022 presented values similar to those found in other studies.
