Com este trabalho pretende-se compreender como o individuo, no seio de uma organização, responde “com sentido” a situações fora da rotina. Identificado o enquadramento ambiental, serão estudadas as interações entre o individuo, os fatores externos e internos que possam afetar a seu desempenho dentro do grupo. Sendo o sensemaking organizacional desconhecido no meio aeronáutico, interessa identificar que medidas se encontram em prática no âmbito da qualidade das manutenções, orientadas para a melhoria da segurança de voo. O percurso metodológico assentou numa pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, recorrendo a entidades militares e civis, no âmbito das manutenções aeronáuticas. O enquadramento da problemática é feito através da metodologia de investigação de Quivy e Campenhoudt, com recurso ao modelo hipotético-dedutivo, que será percorrido através da resposta a algumas questões derivadas, por forma a satisfazer a questão central: «Que relação existe entre o sensemaking organizacional e a segurança de voo?». Abstract: This study seeks to understand how the individual, within an organization, responds “with sense" to situations out of the routine. Identified the framework, it will be studied the interaction between the individual, the external and internal factors that could affect his performance within the group. Being the organizational sensemaking unknown within the aeronautical arena, it is important to identify what are the practices in the context of the aeronautical maintenances´ quality, targeting the improvement of the flight safety. The methodology way was based on literature and documents, supported by military and civilian aeronautical entities. The research methodology was framed by the scientific method of Quivy and Campenhoudt, using the model hypothetical-deductive, that will be covered through the response to some research questions, in order to meet the central question: "What is the relationship between the organizational sensemaking and the flight safety? ".
