Summary: This paper deals with the use of the Museu Casa de Rui Barbosa collection as a source of knowledge production about the trajectory of Maria Augusta Rui Barbosa, patron of the institution. Ten objects were highlighted and studied with the aim of tracing their life paths. Through the investigation that will be explained, the social issue of mourning and the political, historical and social insertion of the studied character were verified, according to the relationship of memory and forgetfulness that the research highlighted, in the light of the mobilized gender perspective.

A través de la investigación que se explicará, se verificó la cuestión social del duelo y la inserción política, histórica y social del personaje estudiado, según la relación de memoria y olvido que la investigación destacó, a la luz de la perspectiva de género movilizada. Palabras clave: María Augusta Rui Barbosa; Casa Museo Rui Barbosa; recopilación; trayectoria.Este artigo versa sobre o uso do acervo do Museu Casa de Rui Barbosa como fonte de conhecimento sobre Maria Augusta Rui Barbosa. Dez objetos foram estudados objetivando traçar percursos de sua vida. Através desta investigação, foi constatada a questão social do luto e a inserção política, histórica e social desta personagem, conforme a relação de memória e de esquecimento que a pesquisa evidenciou, à luz da perspectiva de gênero mobilizada.
