A presença dominante de campo nativo favoreceu migrações inter-regionais para a criação de fazendas no Pantanal. As pastagens nativas no bioma Pantanal são os principais recursos naturais que a região possui para a manutenção e desenvolvimento da pecuária de corte extensiva. Foram construídas as planilhas de dados com as áreas totais por municípios das pastagens nativas (pn), pastagens cultivadas (pc), pastagens degradadas (pdeg) e áreas de reserva legal (ReserL). A partir desses dados foram construídos gráficos Triplot, método multivariado exploratório desenvolvido para tabelas de contingência com três colunas, geralmente com dados caracterizados como proporções. A presença de pastagens cultivadas foram marcantes nos municípios do Mato Grosso em função de possuírem áreas grandes fora da planície pantaneira mais sujeitas ao processo de formação de pastagens. Os municípios com presença marcante de pastagens nativas são os que possuem maiores áreas na planície pantaneira. The dominance of native pasture has favored interregional migrations and the establishment of farms in the Pantanal. The native pastures in the Pantanal biome are the main natural resources in the region for the maintenance and development of extensive beef cattle. The data spreadsheet included the total areas in each municipality, regarding native pastures (pn), cultivated pastures (pc), degraded pastures (pdeg) and areas of legal reserve (ReserL). Triplot diagrams were completed. Tri-plot is an exploratory multivariate method, developed for threecolumn contingency tables in which the variables are characterized as proportions of a whole. The presence of cultivated pastures is remarkable in the municipalities of Mato Grosso, as there are large areas away from the Pantanal plain that are more subject to the process of pasture formation. The municipalities with a significant presence of native pastures are the ones with larger areas in the Pantanal plain.
