Shrnutí: | Introduction: since the removal of the smear layer during endodontic treatment is of extreme importance and that EDTA has some unfavorable characteristics. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the potentiation of glycolic acid 10% and 17%, through the method of activation of substances by EasyClean, in the removal of Smear Layer and dentine erosion. Methods: Distobuccal canals of 40 maxillary molars were prepared with ProTaper Next system (N=40). Afterwards, they were cut longitudinally for smear layer quantification purposes in the cervical, middle and apex of the roots, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). After reassembling the cut roots, they were divided into 4 groups according to different solutions of final irrigation (n=10): distilled water (AD), EDTA 17%, AG 10% and AG 17%; and technique of irrigants activation: EC in reciprocating movement for 3 cycles of 20s. After irrigation, the roots were separated again to obtain images in the same areas of the first evaluation by means of SEM. The percentage of smear removal layer was obtained through the processing of images generated in the software Image J. The smear layer removal data were submitted to ANOVA and Bonferroni ( 0.05). The dentin erosion scores were analyzed by the Kruskal-Wallis and Tukey ( 0.05). Results: The highest percentage of open areas of dentinal tubules was found in AG 10 and 17% activated with EC (P<0.05). To the EDTA and GA solutions at both concentrations did not cause dentin erosion root. Conclusion: AG was effective for removing the smear layer in both concentrations when potentiated with EasyClean and there was no occurrence of erosion dentine. |
