Summary: | The metal-mechanical industry requires investments in technologies and automated processes, focusing on eliminating losses, optimizing processes and expansion of the companies' portfolio. Given this scenario, this study aims to carry out a study to change the layout and provide conditions for implementing a laser cutting machine. The nature of the study is exploratory research, with delimitation of the universe as a case study, being carried out in a small company, working in the metalworking sector. The welding process was evaluated and the current production flow, an intervention using computer simulation to reorganize the production flow. Furthermore, an evaluation of the data and estimated costs was carried out for the purchase of a laser cutting machine. Given this study, the results obtained demonstrated gains in productivity, with a 50% reduction in movement between welding stations. Furthermore, a quick return on investment in a machine laser cutting, resulting in a payback of 9 months. |
