Riassunto: This study aimed to reflect on female leadership in an agricultural cooperative, identifying the challenges and opportunities faced by women, with a focus on high-level management positions. The study discusses the history of women in organizations, addressing their rise to leadership roles. Regarding the methodology, the research is applied, qualitative, and exploratory in nature, aiming to analyze the career challenges faced by women in an agricultural cooperative in the municipality of Não- Me-Toque, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with female employees who hold management positions and have been working at the cooperative for eight years or more. The results obtained from the interviews indicate that, to reach leadership positions and gain a different perspective on various high-level management scenarios, women consistently need to demonstrate exceptional knowledge and professional competencies relevant to their roles. An analysis was conducted on the desirable characteristics for leadership roles in organizations, confirming that leadership is not determined by gender. However, it was observed that there are still favorable elements, such as interpersonal relationships, teamwork, empathy and human-centered perspectives, systemic vision, natural leadership, and attention to detail, that can make a difference. It is important to note that men and women possess distinct yet complementary skills and characteristics.
