Riassunto: | Goal: To trace the audiological profile of the elderly, tympanometry curve and the curve relationship of the type Ar in elderly attended in an audiology ambulatory. Methods: Audiological exams were analyzed (tonal audiometry and tympanometry) performed in the Audiology Laboratory between the years 2015 to 2017, of patients over the age of 60 years, of both sexes. The sample consisted of 117 elderly people counting 232 analyzed ears. For the analysis of the results, the data were tabulated and analyzed by the chi-square test, analyzed by the software SPSS23, was considered statistically significant result p> 0.05 Results: There was a prevalence of sensorineural hearing loss. The degrees of hearing loss most found in both ears, were: mild, moderate, severe and profound, in this order. The most prevalent were type A, followed by the Ar type curve. Conclusion: It was concluded that the elderly attended in an audiology ambulatory, presented a prevalence of sensorineural hearing loss and normal hearing, with lowering at high frequencies. The degree of mild loss, followed by moderate degree, was the most commonly found. The type A tympanometric curve was the most prevalent, and there was no relation between hearing loss and audiological configuration and presence of the Ar tympanometric curve. |
