Sumari: | The objective of this work is to analyse the steps for creating the protagonists present in Luiz Antonio de Assis Brasil’ books, As virtudes da casa and O pintor de retratos, which characterize the foreign travellers. It must be emphasized here that, in order to broach this theme, it’s necessary to develop a fast study on the differences between to see and to look, besides a short review of the historical graphic data concerning to the foreign travellers who went through Rio Grande do Sul state during the nineteenth century. Such informations suppor the analysis of these literary works with respect to the utilization of some data from History in the author’s fiction. Moreover, this analysis intends to compare the acting way of the mentioned protagonists, both foreign travellers, standing out the influence gotten from the ambience they are in and from the people they live with, or, on the other hand, the changes brought by them. |
