Summary: Adherent statements, present in all types of support, have the potential for resignification in various socio-discursive contexts. The objective of this article is to understand and analyze an adherent statement of an ideological nature, from the perspective of bearer and supporter, and its relationship with the construction of the discursive ethos inferred to these individuals. We are based on theoretical contributions from Valentin Volóchinov (2018) on ideological signs and from Dominique Maingueneau (2015, 2020, 2022) on adherent statements, scenography and ethos. The research is classified as descriptive, bibliographic and documentary, with a qualitative approach in its analysis. The research corpus is composed of a discursive materiality in which businessman Luciano Hang, owner of Havan stores, makes political-partisan propaganda and explores the image of employees wearing t-shirts with an adherent statement. The corpus analysis shows that the adherent statements have the potential to transform and re-signify meanings in the media in which they are presented. In the case of human supports, it can interfere with the construction of the discursive ethos as an image of oneself in discourse in different ways for bearers and supporters.
