Sumari: | This research investigates how Marginal Literature and Rap, as artistic expressions that portray the aesthetics and politics emerging from urban peripheries, articulate discourses of resistance within a literary and cultural system that remains hegemonically Eurocentric. It also seeks to reflect on how these forms of art contribute to the empowerment and protagonism of Black and peripheral individuals. To this end, the study initially engages with the concept of Systems, as developed by Cândido (2000), and subsequently directs its methodological path toward the notion of reading mediators proposed by Lajolo (2016). This foundation then leads to the theory of Polysystems by Even-Zohar (2017), culminating in the adoption of Patricia Hill Collins’s Intersectionality (2021), which offers more robust hypotheses. The selected corpus includes the poem “Datilógrafo do Gueto,” by Ferréz (2019), and the rap song “Tecnologia Afrodiaspórica,” by Bia Ferreira (2023). Both works mobilize a critical, intersectional language, mainly grounded in Collins’s framework, which provides a theoretical foundation based on the categories of race, gender, identity, and territory. Through a qualitative, exploratory, and documentary approach, the research reflects on the intersectional layers present in these discourses, which offer a voice that denounces and challenges the societal status quo. |
