Whakarāpopototanga: The present study aims to analyze the experiences of the four women who constitute the family genealogy drawn by Carola Saveedra in the novel Com armas sonolentas (2018), focusing on the types of violence to which these women were subjected. The stories of the four main characters are crossed by some common denominators, such as sexual violence, abuse of power, racism, among others, however, the different contexts, temporalities and spaces in which these women are inserted must be considered. For this reason, we rely on feminist criticism and cultural studies to highlight these types of violence and what weapons the characters use to overcome them.
