Sumari: Aristotle's Metaphysics is a dense and difficult to understand book. Although structured by an exquisite logical chain, the text itself, as well as its translations, can cause confusion for inattentive readers. Because it is an essential work in the philosophical scene, in general, it is presented to philosophy students at the beginning of their academic lives. It seemed important, therefore, to develop a work of introduction to its most elementary concepts, such as being, being, substance, act and potency. Thus, the objective of this work is to develop, through an analysis of Aristotle's Metafísica and Rosset and Frangiotti's Metafísica antiga e medieval, to list and elucidate the introductory elements of First Philosophy. It will also be highlighted the reason why Aristotle calls this science First Philosophy, and, therefore, I will relate, if possible, the meaning of this term with Aristotelian teleology.
