Riassunto: This dissertation focused on the original processes and current conditions of paleodunar fields located on the banks of the São Francisco River in the municipality of Sento Sé, Bahia. Such sandy features are significant records for understanding the action of elements and paleoclimatic factors on these areas, essential to understand the genesis and evolution of these environments over historical time. In this sense, the objective of the research was to analyze the fluvial paleodune fields, their origin processes and the natural and anthropogenic impacts of the environmental system. This is an applied research, with a quali-quantitative approach, being exploratory, bibliographical, documental and field. The theoretical framework of the research was elaborated from a systematic literature review (SLR) and this research is based on the dialectic and systemic approach and, based on the theories of landscape ecodynamics, geosystem-territory-landscape, walking and rapid survey. The research findings pointed out the processes that gave rise to the paleodunes, their evolution, the landscape phytophysiognomy, the categorization of the landscape into ecodynamic units, the current conditions in relation to natural and anthropogenic impacts and the emergence of implementation of management and conservation plans environment for these paleoenvironments.
