Zusammenfassung: | To talk about the history of Meruoca and not to mention Monsignor Furtado, or to talk about the trajectory of this religious without mentioning Meruoca is to hide the most important chapters of both. The municipality and Monsenhor Furtado had their paths intertwined for more than half a century, which made the protagonist of this book more than a man of the Church, but a man of the people of Meruoca. And when it comes to the impact of the parish priest in that community, it is not only the encouragement he brought with his words, reinforcing the faith of the local people, but the sum of all his acts, which crossed religious boundaries, marking health, education and infrastructure even from the corners of that mountain. The authors intelligently bring the story of Meruoca, highlighting the work of Monsignor Furtado, allowing readers to see the reason for the name of this character to be highlighted in the monuments and, mainly, in the memory of the people who had his life influenced by him. |
