Riassunto: | This scientific article aims to present an analysis of crimes committed in waterways in the Western Amazon region and economic impacts caused by the actions of “pirates” of the rivers, or river “pirates”. These specialized, heavily armed gangs have spread terror throughout the Amazon rivers, threatening riverside populations and vessels that sail through the region, generating great losses for shipping companies. river navigation and trade in the region; in addition to inflicting the population's right to come and go local. The sovereignty of the region's rivers is threatened, the Brazilian Navy, through the Command of the Amazonas Flotilla, has constantly sought to curb these illicit acts, in order to ensure the afety of waterway traffic and the economic development of the region, becoming efficient means committed to social reality. |
